If your irrigation system isn't working right, we can fix it.
Yes — we service and repair all major irrigation brands including Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro, Orbit, and more. If it's an in-ground irrigation system, we can work on it.
Always. We never perform additional work without discussing it with you first and getting your approval. Our flat rate services like spring startup and system inspections have set pricing — any additional repair work discovered during the visit will be quoted separately before we touch anything.
A zone that won't activate is usually caused by a faulty valve, a wiring issue, or a problem with the controller. These are among the most common repairs we do throughout Plymouth and the surrounding area. Call or text 866-344-6348 and we'll get it diagnosed and fixed quickly.
In the Plymouth area we recommend scheduling your spring startup for late April through mid-May, once overnight temperatures are consistently staying above freezing. We strongly recommend booking in March or early April — our spring schedule fills up fast every year and we hate turning customers away.
Our spring startup includes a complete zone-by-zone system walk-through, full inspection of all heads and valves, sprinkler head adjustments, controller programming for the new season, and a report of anything that needs attention. All for a flat rate under $100.
Most of the time I will need access to the water in the basement and the irrigation controller. If you can turn the water on, I will then only need access to the controller.
Minnesota winters are brutal on irrigation systems. Water left in your pipes, valves, and heads will freeze and expand — cracking pipes underground, splitting valve bodies, and damaging heads. A single freeze can cause thousands of dollars in repair costs. Professional winterization removes all the water from your system with a commercial air compressor blowout, protecting every component.
In the Plymouth area we recommend scheduling your winterization before the first hard freeze, typically late September through October. Don't wait until the last minute — our fall schedule fills up just as fast as spring. Book early to lock in your preferred date.
DIY winterization with a small home compressor often leaves water behind in the lines — especially in larger systems or systems with multiple zones. If you're not confident the system was fully blown out, it's worth having a professional check it. Call us at 866-344-6348 and we can advise you.
Installation costs vary based on your property size, number of zones, and the type of system you choose. We provide free design consultations and detailed quotes before any work begins. Contact us at 866-344-6348 or visit robsmithirrigation.com to get started.

Absolutely. We can upgrade individual components of your existing system — replacing old heads with high-efficiency models, adding a smart controller, extending a zone, or fixing coverage gaps — without replacing the entire system. Even small targeted upgrades can make a dramatic difference in performance and water efficiency.

Liquid brine is a proactive ice prevention treatment applied to your driveway before a winter storm arrives. It prevents ice from bonding to the surface — making snow removal easier, reducing the amount of rock salt needed, and protecting your driveway and surrounding landscaping from salt damage.
Visit robsmithirrigation.com to fill out a snow removal quote request, or call and text Rob directly at 866-344-6348. We recommend signing up before the first snowfall of the season to lock in your spot — we have limited availability each winter.
